INJAZ Qatar recognises business volunteers and schools at annual appreciation lunch
In recognition of its growing professional volunteers community, INJAZ Qatar, a non-profit organization and member of Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide, hosted its 6th annual appreciation event for its corporate volunteers and school partners on Thursday 3 October at the Four Seasons Hotel, Doha.
This academic year has seen 33 new companies partner with the organisation allowing INJAZ Qatar to provide training to more than 2,500 students in the three pillars of work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
The annual luncheon recognized the support of 157 corporate volunteers from global and local companies who are key to the growth and development of INJAZ Qatar, which now provides training across six universities and 17 independent schools to inspire and prepare students for succeeding in the global economy.
Speaking at the occasion, Aysha Al Mudahka, INJAZ Qatar Executive Director said, “INJAZ Qatar’s mission and vision is centered around providing a better future for tomorrow’s leaders and with the support of our growing network of partners, we continue to seek new ventures to help prepare the youth of the country for the global economy. Since 2007, we have reached more than 10,000 students with the help of over 512 corporate volunteers. The support we have received from all of our corporate partners, schools, universities and volunteers has been central to INJAZ Qatar’s growing success. Thank you all for your enormous support.”
HSBC CEO, Abdul Hakeem Al Mostafawi said in his speech, addressing volunteers and schools: “On behalf of the board members, I would like to thank each and every one of you for being here. Over the last six years INJAZ Qatar has surpassed many milestones and it wouldn’t have been a success without the volunteers and the educational partners. I’ve been a volunteer myself and what I cherish the most about INJAZ’s programs is being able to give back to society.”
INJAZ Qatar reinforced the importance of the role played by all its partner companies that provide corporate volunteers and sponsor significant projects, all of which allow INJAZ Qatar to broaden its scope and reach.
INJAZ Qatar facilitates ties between private businesses and schools allowing professionals from different partner companies to teach the INJAZ curricula at various independent preparatory, middle and secondary schools and universities.
INJAZ Qatar is currently recruiting and training corporate volunteers for the fall semester. INJAZ Qatar volunteers are working professionals and entrepreneurs currently living and working in Qatar, who want to give back to the community.
