Australian Guest Chef - Jeremy Steele
Have an appetite for Australian food? On May 14, 2012, Chef Jeremy Steele will entertain 30 lucky guests through the doors of La Mer with a four-course Down under-themed dinner paired with an ensemble of Australian wines. Jeremy Steele is currently at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha as a special guest chef at La Mer, one of the hotel’s fine dining restaurants for the upcoming three months.
Following a successful appearance at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha hotel’s Festival of the Senses 2011, Chef Steele has been invited as guest chef to introduce his eclectic, produce-driven style with a local twist, utilizing the world's best produce including the Gulf's famous seafood, and looks forward to immersing himself in the vibrant culture of Qatar and working with the talented culinary team from The Ritz-Carlton, Doha /Ladies & Gentlemen.
He will also be employing his extensive experience as a cooking teacher to deliver classes and workshops to guests, starting with a Master Class on Southeast Asian cuisine on May 11, 2012.
Chef Steele has worked and traveled extensively in Europe, Southeast Asia and the Pacific, having worked for several years at exclusive resorts. His culinary philosophy has been influenced, in particular, by his experiences in/of Nordic and Japanese cuisines, which emphasize freshness, seasonality and sustainability, and he utilizes contemporary techniques to bring the best out of his ingredients in surprising ways.
